I just noticed that these posts are on West Coast time! Add 3 hours to whatever the post time says, and I'll try to remember to insert the time when I post.
Julia has had a bit of a long day today.
They started her early this morning with the procedure to put the filter in, and then getting solid blocks of sleep has been difficult as there has been, seemingly, a good bit of commotion due to people in and out of the room checking her stats, etc. So needless to say she is tired.
We are hoping that at some point tomorrow we will get her transferred to a non-ICU room. Most likely the transfer will be a bit taxing, however, so I will let you guys know when she is actually ready to receive people.
I know people are eager to see her as soon as they can (easy for me to say since I've been with her the whole time...I know! Sorry!!), but it is incredibly important that she rest as much as she can.
Love you all,
-Louisa

ReplyDeletecan't stop thinking of you. sending lovegame prayers, maybe even a Remi hug! ;) feel better soon so we can come play!
As my doctor says, the hospital is a terrible place to be sick. What you need most is rest, and they deny you that by waking you up every 45 minutes to poke and prod. I am praying for as much rest as possible for you, Sweet Julia. Please get better fast. We love you.

ReplyDeleteDo the doctors know where the clot originated? Is there a threat of more clots? Or do they feel like they've got it under control?
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping Julia and the whole family in my thoughts. I really hope all of you can get some rest soon.

It looks like Julia had a clot or two in her leg and that it passed to her lungs. They've put in a filter in her leg just below her hip, and this will catch any other clots if they try to make it up north. I think the feeling is that it's under control now, and she's on a heparin drip to help her body break down the offending clots.
DeleteWe all got some good rest last night. :)

It is an unsettling sight to see an ambulance in front of your neighbor's house at midnight. So glad that you reached the hospital when you did, Julia. You continue to remain in our daily thoughts and prayers and we are thrilled to have this blog for updates as we want to hear of your improvement. Thank you Louisa! When I sat with my Mom in the hospital earlier this year, one thing that the Lord taught me was that He is sufficient for each day. So when the questions rise such as "when can I do this" or "how will I handle this", remember that the Lord has your day in His hands and will see you through. Once you allow your heart and mind to embrace this promise, He will pour upon you His amazing peace. I can attest to that! Your extended family loves you Julia and we look forward to your returning home soon.
